      Somebody screaming into my ear
      Hi everyone.

I am new here. Nice to meet you all.

For the last year, I've had varying symptoms with my ear ranging from hypersensitivity to loud noises (which has caused my tinnitus to get much worse), to a constant full feeling in my ear. This all started about a year ago, when I got rather ill. I can handle most of the symptoms, but recently, I feel like my balance is going and I must admit that I am terrified. Sudden head movements and changing of direction makes me feel like I may fall over.

I have had MRI scans and paid privately to see an ENT who has simply told me to change my diet. However, since then the balance problems seem to be permanent and I do not know what to do next.

      Any advice is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Dave

      @DavidSpavid ,
      Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
You could have a inner ear condition like Hydrops or early onset Menieres but only time and tests will tell.
For now just log how you are each day to give ENT if the symptoms dont settle.
Ask your doctor for Betahistine medication or Buccastem.
You could also try vestibular physiotherapy for balance.

      Thank you both.

@glynis Do you know how an ENT would test for these? So far, I have had the usual ear pressure and hearing tests, all of which have come back relatively normal. I have been referred to a balance clinic and the appointment is in early December.

      Best,

      Dave

The balance tests will give them idea and the symptoms your getting.
Menieres can take a year or two to see if symptoms develop.
Try not to worry and let them check things out for you.
Keep to a low salt diet so reduce water retention that helps keep fluid build up in your ears also.
