Hey. I've had tinnitus for about 6 months. Not much has changed since getting it. A few spikes here and there. Along with times where it has been quiet. I can mostly cope fine. But, today. I was on a bus and my girlfriend slammed the window shut right next to me. It was super loud. I have been paranoid ever since. Thinking that I am going to get a new ringing sound or my normal tinnitus will get louder.

Can anyone give me some peace of mind? I am freaking out here.

Yes you will be fine. I had a huge foot slam right in my face. It seem really loud but actually it wasn't.

Thanks guys. The worst thing about tinnitus is dealing with the anxiety associated with it. I am contantly listening out for sounds. Making sure It's not in my head etc. I can only hear my normal tinnitus at the moment though. So, fingers crossed.

If you haven't noticed any ear fullness, and your T hasn't spiked yet then there is a good chance that you will be ok. If it doesn't spike when you wake up tomorrow morning, then you probably don't need to worry. If it spikes, chances are that it will be a temporary spike. If you experience many of those micro-traumas, then eventually the spike might become permanent...
