This is a photo of one of my grandsons,
Sam Price.
He is an exceptional footballer aged sixteen.
Yesterday he was traveling to a match, driven by his other grandfather Terry, and was sitting in the back of the car next to his uncle John.
He noticed that John was making some strange noises in his throat.
He got Terry to stop the car, got John out onto the pavement, told his grandad to phone for an ambulance, and started CPR on his uncle John at the roadside.
Using cardio compression and mouth to mouth, he managed to revive him twice before the ambulance arrived.
They followed the ambulance to hospital where his uncle died in the operating theatre.

The ambulance crew commended Sam on his technical expertise and his composure under pressure.
He did everything right.

This young sixteen year old boy has experienced so much tragedy in his short life.
His mother Michelle, our daughter, died when he was six, of breast cancer, his father, our son in law Rob, died last November, of oesophageal cancer.
He is not just an exceptional footballer, but a truly incredible sweet natured human being.
He is my hero.
Love you so much Sam. xx

Sam is truly a hero, Dave, you must be so very proud of him. How sad to hear that his uncle passed away, I am sorry that Sam has suffered yet another loss in his short life.

He has a beautiful gentle nature.
I told him I am so proud of him.
He will be here for dinner with four grandchildren tomorrow (as every Tuesday).
When he comes in he hugs his Nonnie and me for 'minutes.'
With mum and dad gone, he needs us.
Strangely enough, we both feel that we 'need' him also.

You are all fortunate to have each other, Dave. Tuesday must be very special night at your house, how lovely that you can all be together like this. He will need an extra long hug tomorrow.

@Jazzer what an absolute champ he is, this hits my heart heavy. He's all the better to have you, Sylvie and all the family in his life. I'm sure you help each other heal, you are all raising this lil man to be a true gent.

Thanks @Jcb - lovely words.
I'll tell you this brother,
If he turns out like you, he'll be a great guy.

That's actually a really nice comment, made me blush man but...... he needs not to turn out like me though I'm a messy individual most of the time haha I'm certainly not somebody to look up to but the comment is much appreciated anyway Dave.
