Hello all,

I started having ringing in my left ear two weeks ago. Before the ringing I started feeling sick, weak, nauseous, dizzy, some pressure in my forehead, ear popping. The ringing subsided last week when I had about 3 days of relief and it has returned. Sometimes I don't notice it and I use white noise or sound therapy to go to sleep.

I went to urgent care and Doctor said I might have a head cold. Told to buy Zyrtec D. Fast forward one week I seen a ENT, he said no wax in ears. He sent me for CT scan of my sinus and a hearing test and Tympanometry. Will see ENT next week for result. During hearing test they said they noticed my left ear had a mild low frequency loss or something in that nature. Either eay he said my ENT will contact me.

Two days ago I started feeling sick again, same symptoms as two weeks ago so I went to my regular doctor and he said looks like I had some fluid in my ears, however when took the hearing test they put a camera in my ear and couldn't see no fluid.

Regular doctor prescribed me a Z pack (Azithromycin) 250 mg. I took two yesterday which was first day.

I noticed today my ears are ringing louder.
Not sure if it's because of the Z pack or Tympanometry Since they had to put some pressure in my ears.

Also I forgot to mention I take Lexapro and Welbutrin for 3 years and neve had a issue. I have weaned myself down to a low dose of under 1mg of lexapro.

Not sure what to do or if this will subside or go away. It's fustrating and this T has gotten me depressed at first. With the Intensity being louder today I am worried.

Should I stop taking to antibiotic ?

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated

Hi jprez.
Im sorry about your T and dizzyness.
It almost sounds like you have symptoms of vertigo.
You should look it up online and ask your GP about it.

I'm not sure if you should take the antibiotic. I would go with the doctors advice. But that's up to you. Maybe someone else here has advice for you. T is terrible to have. Hang in there and hold on to the hope that yours will go away. I had a head cold when my T started. Along the way I got vertigo and dizziness and ended up in the emergency room. That was the first time that ever happen to me. Doctor told me that I had food poisoning but I thought it was strange, They felt it would last a week. Keep the faith and hope that you will be well again, Alan
