      Hi

I never post on forums these days but decided to come back to share my story since I found a lot of posts helpful when I was on here desperate for information that I wanted to hear a few months ago.

I am a huge music fan and have been pretty much all my life - seem to change genres based on my mood and time of day, but for around 3 years now I have been mostly into deep house/club music.

Each time my earphones break or get lost I decide to treat myself to an upgrade from the previous one I had, so eventually the upgrade to headphones was due. I bought my first pair of headphones and used it for a year until one side stopped working back in November last year. I waited til December pay day before I went for an upgrade to the best selling headphones on Amazon. I remember waiting the entire day for delivery so looking forward to the full experience of music on both ears again.

I always played music on max volume as i deemed to be the optimal experience, it put me right in the zone.

So the new headphones got delivered, I was so excited, It was well chunky but I didn't care because I expected the sound quality to outweigh how big it looked compared to my head (did note to self to try on and see how it looks in a store for my next upgrade though).

So these new headphones I decided to put on charge and go in the shower. As soon as I came out I put them on and began playing my latest deep house mix via Bluetooth connection on my phone. The experience was just epic, having music on both ears after a while and the quality of the bass was amazing.

Around 10mins into the track I started feeling some unusual vibrations on my right ear. It felt like the bass is moving something internal to my ear which didn't feel right. I stopped the music and decided to give my ears a rest, since for the past month only my left ear was getting music using my previous headphones. As time went on I started getting more conscious of how my right ear is feeling unusual. I carried on with the music again but couldn't help being concious of it so decided to leave it till the next day. That night when I rested my head on my pillow, it felt like liquid is leaking from my ear, but after using cotton buds there was no moisture on it. I realised that i must have given a shock to my ear, so like with most minor injuries I decided to sleep it off.

The next day I woke up and my ear was hurting slightly. That's when I thought I must have damaged a tissue, but didn't think too much of it as I expected it to heal. So I carried on with the music. I remember going to work on the train and 5mins into the music the pain started. I couldn't continue and so decided to start playing it on low volume until it heals.

Later that night I began to research on the internet 'busted eardrum' I reckoned it was and gathered it would heal by itself so It was supposed to be just a waiting game. But something strange happened that night. I started to notice a ringing sound. I did come across tinitus online during my searches but I never thought I'd get it since my ears have been exposed to loud music for years. Then found that some famous muscians have it so if anything it's actually more likely to be the opposite to what I was thinking.

The more I researched the more I felt my life is over, I didn't know how I was going to cope. I like to have quiet times and started to forget what that felt like. I read online that it's permanent and sounds can change. The next day the sound did start changing - hissing, ringing, static tv sound in different tones and volumes. It was so depressing. Thank God I wasn't able to hear it when outside otherwise I would not have been able to work which would have meant my life is immediately over. But it was still a big issue, I was struggling to sleep with the sounds, trying to convince myself it wasn't there sometimes worked but ended up not working at all. I still had pain in my ears for a few days but after that went away the sounds were still there. I was then convinced that I have noise induced tinitus, so I was desperately seeking information on how to get rid of it. I was desperate to hear someone say that it permenantly went away after getting it from similar circumstances to me.

The stories I read on here and on other pages made me greatful in one way that I didn't have it in both ears and as long as some other people. I really felt for those people and appreciated some of the positive things they said to help deal with it. It helped me a lot to deal with my sress and made me feel positive that there are others out there who are willing to make you feel better. It was devastating for me though. I didn't know how to explain it to my family. I am a healthy person in general and all for some experience of music I now have this permanent sound that would never allow me to experience peace again. I never go doctors and the thought of seeing an ear specialist was terrifying.

I started finding some videos that masked the sound when I was sleeping. There was one video that worked everytime so I stuck to it. It was so soothing not being conscious of the sound while my head was resting on the pillow. I was able to sleep like a baby each night:

MOST POWERFUL TINNITUS SOUND THERAPY 1...

I hope this video has the same effect on anyone reading this with tinitus.

I was still hopeful that it would go away, I read stories from people that mentioned it went away but it was so rare. Then I read a post on here about how there are lots of users on here that become inactive. It's assumed that they no longer need to information on the forum at some point.

Thanks to God I ended up becoming one of them. It's been 6 months now since i first heard the ringing sound and for the past couple of months it has disappeared, occasionally I do get it but it lasts only a few seconds. My ear doesnt hurt anymore but it feels itchy sometimes inside. I wasn't able to use cotton buds before without experiencing pain but now it's fine. I believe it has permanently gone touch wood. I still listen to music but don't exceed the warning level on my phone. I decided to write this because the information on this forum helped me when I was desperate and I want to let others know that it's possible. I will never exceed the warning volume level again.

I hope my tinitus never comes back and I hope yours goes away permanently God willing.

This is so awesome for you!

It appears you didn't really do any special vitamin brews or anything and it healed on it's own?

      I got extremely lucky!

That's right, I didn't take any supplements. Carried on going gym and almost completely cut down on alcohol.

      God willing.

I avoided loud places but still let my ear experience normal sounds outside. It used to spike first thing in the morning and after having alcohol. The first couple of weeks it was noticeable even with the TV on! Bit eventually only when I was alone in my bedroom.

On the flip side it used to get quieter for a few hours after coming back from gym.
