      Nasal Rinse
      First time poster.

July 2019 I had some sinus pain so decided to use a sinus nasal rinse, I had used them before.

I followed the instructions, used cooled boiled water added the salt sachet and gently squeezed the water into my nose. The water immediately went into my inner ear or felt like it and I lost about 60% hearing. I stopped and didn't do the other nostril obviously.

It still feels like there is water in there. Been to GP, gotten an MRI and gone to a specialist who said it was nerve damage and there was no water in my ear. I am thinking of going to get a second opinion and just wondering if anyone else has had this experience or know of anyone who might have had similar?

I was given a nasal spray by the GP and told to try and keep clearing my eustachian tubes by blowing with hold my nose. This has not helped at all.

      Any advice appreciated.

I hope you find some answers soon.

Is it possible that sinus pressure you were feeling may have been the fullness from the start of sensoneural hearing loss?

      Possibly just bad timing?

Do you still have 60% reduced hearing?

This happened to me as well! When I used the NeilMed it pushed the water up into my Eustachian tubes and caused immediate tinnitus. Almost a year now and it still hasn't gone away. I think we should create a new thread for everyone who has experienced this. It's insane that there is no warning!

Wow, I’ve been using that for over 20 years and never had an issue. If I were you, I’d use Afrin to open the Eustachian tube. The water should drain from the middle ear.
