I have had tinnitus for about 20 years and I have learned to live with it. It's only in my mind when the subject arises. I have no idea how it happened but on my dad's side of the family most of my cousins have the same problem. We all have different levels and types of sounds. Does anyone know if it is genetic?

Well I am unsure of a defined frequency of mine or anyone else's for that matter. but I could post around and dig up some intel on the subject in question, I myself am curious.

 

Thanks Dylan. I was in the Kent countryside and I mentioned on Facebook how quiet it was except for my tinnitus. To my surprise three cousins came back to say that they have the same problem.
