Hello... It's comforting to know that I am not alone in my misery. Most people don't realize how this constant siren going off in my left ear affects me. I can pretty much ignore it when I'm working or just being active. But when I'm stressed or overtired it gets quite loud.

I've been to an ENT he didn't see anything and had a hearing test, no hearing loss.

Now an MRI is the next step but I don't think it will show anything since I know exactly what caused the ringing...my car radio went to maximum volume while I was driving with the windows closed and it took a minute for me to pull over and turn the volume down. That was November 16th 2017 - 3 months ago. I will never forget the date, the blast almost made me dizzy it was so loud. The next day...the ringing began and has never stopped.

My question is should I get the MRI? I am not comfortable with an MRI of my head/brain. And if there is no real cure what would be the purpose....?

Just needed to vent....thanks for listening...

The purpose of the MRI is generally to rule out an Acoustic Neuroma when facing unilateral T (and/or hearing loss) of unknown origin. This doesn't seem to be your case (you know what the culprit is).
