Cause of Tinnitus
never knew
Hi all. Just joined this forum and here to introduce myself and share my experience with tinnitus.
I am a retired American living in Spain. In Spain since 1964.

Tinnitus started when I was in my 30's. Have visited many "specialists" with no results whatsoever. The best advice I got was from my last doctor: "Learn to live with it. Nobody knows what causes it so there is really no treatment". That is what I have done and here I am more than 40 years later... living with it!

I found this forum looking for some advice about chiropractors and tinnitus. And I think I have come to my decision: forget it.

My personal opinion is that tinnitus is not an ear disorder but rather related to some malfunction in the brain. A neurologist friend agrees with me but can offer no advice.

So does you T still make you sad? And does it bother you?
No. It never made me sad. It only bothers me when I think about it. When I am doing something else I am so used to it I don't notice it. Mind over matter!!!

@richardstephens . It is a brain issue. And that's what makes tinnitus difficult to treat. Maybe in the future there will be a cure. Only time will tell.
I totally agree. Doubt if I will live to see a solution.
