New Problem — Friend Slammed Cupboard Door — Will This New Frequency Go Away?

My own girlfriend got angry and slammed cupboard door in front of me. She knows I got tinnitus and warned her of never make such noise. I think I hear new frequency or louder.. will it heal ?
I just can't believe that she did it.
My heart is broken too.

Your ear should soon settle back down to your base sound.
Your ears are letting you know they wernt happy with the loud sound so give it a day or two to settle....lots of love glynis

I am on prednisolone now. I feel much better than my first day. Will the effect of this medication permanent or temporary?
My cause is unknown. Maybe my body and mind were stressed out to the max. During this time, my internist diagnosed my constipation for other things. My only medicine was Movicol for constipation before T came. Suddenly after I feel so much better with less stress, T hit me out of nowhere.
I just want to be prepared if I can eat some supplement for stress related T.

 

@Andi Wijaya . I'm sure it will settle down again. Had this happen to me on numerous occasions. So try not to stress out .

Prednisalone will reduce tinnitus and for some people it can make it go away.
Time is a great healer so give it more time and hope it settles down for you.

Prednisalone does it make T go away permanently?

 

Yesterday I could sleep well but now I have difficulty even with masking sound. I am scared I am having new baseline and the corticosteroids therapie fail. I could cope well but need to habituate a bit, because it was mild/moderate.

 

I didn't need masking sounds yesterday.

Can someone help me to get through high frequency tone?
Can I take a bit prednisolone now?

 

I am having a hard time to sleep now. So many new sounds.
The one I love made me suffer like this. What a childish and dangerous behavior.

 

Did she purposely do it? @Andi Wijaya , my fiancé has the biggest heart and sometimes he shuts things too hard but I know he didn't mean it and I can't stop him from doing things that he is used to. I mean I can't blame him for that. He usually is careful but I don't expect him to just constantly change his life and be very very very careful bc of me. He tries but the he forgets.

 

He knows I have T: he makes sure he turns down music but everyday noise will get to me. I work in retail and yet again today I had a young child screaming right in front of me. I can't yell at the mom and tell her I have T and for her to get her child away from Me. I just learned not to really have high aniexty over it. Things will happen. I do hope yours goes down to baseline soon!!!

 

@Jamie m we had an argument about her past and she thought I didn't care. It's hard to think clearly with tinnitus.
She started banging the plates and shut the cupboard doors with high speed. Whether it's impulse or in purpose, it's just unacceptable. She never got mad like that previously.

I showed her the previous day a video about Gaby and how tinnitus affecting her. Hoping she would understand my condition. I doubt it has an effect.

 

I'm really sorry! She needs to care more. I went over to my fiancée parents house to watch the basketball game, his mom WAS loud a little drunk but very loud. Henry tried to tell his mom about me but she has drinks in so it was hard for her. I could see he really cared and That's all I wanted. I just put in my plugs and enjoyed. I'm really sorry she shouldn't have done all that

 

now I have high frequency noise which can be heard everywhere. I am just hoping it settles down and I can enjoy a walk in the city again.

No sorry, no empathy after she did that. It made me very sad.
Things are in the right direction with the corticosteroids, I could enjoy silence once in a while even in bedroom. Now it's in balance.

 

Please, I am getting crazy here... what should I do ?

 

No it will reduce it for a while but if it's due to hearing loss it can help that at early onset after the extream sound....lots of love glynis

Prednisalone is a steroid usually taken for respiratory problems .

 

I went to ENT today. Slept only 2 hours last night. After ENT, my ear is always better somehow. Test here and there but no medication given.

I hoped it's just a spike because of the sound.
I haven't eaten anything because I am scared of the effect. I can stay hungry but I cannot have a bad spike.

 

This may sound harsh but if she does another act like that from anger then you should end the relationship because it could only get worse and for a person to purposely do something is just wrong. Hope she understands better now and thinks next time.
