- Tinnitus Since
- 01/2000 on and off....now severe
- Cause of Tinnitus
- Honestly don't know
Hello all..I've had some form if tinnitus on and off for many years, however it always quickly subsided. 10 days ago I awoke from a short nap with terrible loud hissing heartbeat pulsating tinnitus, stronger on the left side but pretty much all over up my head. It has been nonstop since. I cannot eat, sleep or barely function. I can increase the volume by moving my jaw, pressing my scalp, etc. Did have an MRI during the week it was actually for another condition, non- diabetes neuropathy in my feet. The MRI was clean except for arthritis in my neck. I am so sick and tired and getting more depressed each day. Can anybody give me guidance who to see first beyond my GP he has not been a lot of help? An ERT specialist perhaps? Amazes me so many sufferers of this and not enough being done to cure it. appreciate any support and advice..

.. The spondylosis symptoms sure sound like me right down to the migraines, which I get perhaps once a month. So sorry hearing the troubles with your feet, in addition to the T. The doctors call mine idiopathic neuropathy which means they really don't know what causes it. Maybe it is generating with the neck arthritis. A week before my tinnitus struck, I had joined a neuropathy forum much like this one for sufferers. Now it doesnt much compare to this tinnitus, which is just the worst possible it could be. Frustrating is that I just retired after 30 years last year and been hitting the gym and feeling good.. then 2 months ago a lot of stress introduced into the life... perhaps my tinnitus is a culmination of that also.
