PCOS — Bad Menstrual Pains — What Can I Take For Pain?

      Really don't know
      I know ibuprofen is not good for the ears ... I'm in a lot of pain... Painful cramps and don't know what to take... In afraid to make T worse... Any advice!?

      Hey Rina,

      Taking ibuprofen once probably isn't going to do you in, it's taking a lot over a long period of time that's potentially not so great.

      However, you can also try:

      • A hot compress
      • Tea made from pulverized, boiled Daikon root (good for inflammation)
      • Gentle exercise
      • Get some omega-3's, vitamin E and magnesium - some studies show they help reducing cramping/inflammation
      • If you're really in a lot of immediate pain, take some advil. This one time isn't going to hurt you and you can work on a long-term management plan later.

      In the long run, I would make sure you're getting proper nutrients and regular exercise. That really does make a big difference.
