I’d like to know as well. I’m thinking of talking to my ENT about it.

In the beginning my doc gave me a low dose and said it would help with sleep, I ended up taking it for three weeks.

I had spikes and I woke up in the night with other noises, so when I came off low dosage my doc said no problem, well when I came off I shook, rattle, rolled.

I know there are people who have no problem with it, just understand what the product does good & bad. I use over the counter product at night now.

Hey there! I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if after the nasty withdrawal your T went back down to its "normal" level. Mine has been haywire on Nortriptyline for 2 weeks, changing sound/volume/switching from ear to ear and I'm wondering if I should stop it now to prevent permanent damage or wait a little longer to see if it evens out or it's too late.

      Thanks a lot!

I was on nortriptyline for three weeks. Pure hell and I was thinking of doing more, but I couldn't do any more. My doc didn't say it would be a problem going off. Well I had problems going off. But I also tried another drug which did not work either.

I found another doc who put me on lithium carbonate a med and I've done well. My tinnitus is better. I don't spike anymore. It took about eight months to work well. And for sleeping: eye-mask, shower at night, take 2 Tylenol PMs, fan and sound machine with ocean sound. It works well for me. I try hard not to take meds at night. This routine has worked for me.

Ah, gotcha. I'm seeing my doctor in a few days and will get her input but I'll probably stop as well. I just can't risk it staying like this permanently. I also use a sound machine at night, there's no way I'd get any sleep without it!

      Thanks! :)
