      Low dose 7-15mg, maybe 30mg, of Mirtazapine can help with insomnia rather than depression. A lot of people report it increases appetite and gain weight. Trazodone is another AD that is often prescribed off label at a lower dose of 50-100mg for insomnia.

        I took Trazodone 50 mg for about 6 months, then switched to an OTC sleep aid.

      You said that mirtazapine helped you with the insomnia but I’m already on Zoloft (US name) and it hasn’t had a chance to kick in yet. Should I try that after if this doesn’t help? I’m desperate for sleep.

        Zolof tends to take longer to work as anti depressant and has more disturbing side effects. I would switch to mirtazapine, definitely. You can also take both at the same time, mirt can be mixed with ssris
