So lately my tinnitus seems quieter as I go about my day, but when I plug my ear it seems louder than ever. Anyone else have this phenomenon?

When you plug your ears you are essentially eliminating all the ambient noises around you. I think it happens to everyone.

Sorry I’m not being clear. It is louder plugged up than it used to be and quieter unplugged than it used to be.

Okay so @kelpiemsp here's my theory. Physically, your tinnitus has gotten quieter, and that's why it is quieter unplugged. But, this also causes it to seem louder when you plug up, because the contrast between unplugged and plugged has become starker (because now when unplugged, ambient noise drowns it out nearly completely - if this is true).
If I'm right, maybe it's quieter because of your U of M therapy...I can dream, right?
