I started struggling with tinnitus in September 2024. It was so severe that it lasted through the night and prevented me from sleeping. It was more of a low sound than a high one. Eventually, I developed severe insomnia between November and December 2024. That same year, I also had a recurrent swollen lymph node.

I tried acupuncture, which temporarily took the tinnitus away for about two weeks while the needles were in my ear, but the insomnia remained. I had to stop working at that point and was not getting any answers from primary care providers. I eventually traveled to Los Angeles to see a doctor there. After running a series of lab tests, they found high Epstein-Barr levels, mold toxins, immune dysfunction, a high complement C4 factor (inflammation), and autoantibodies. This facility uses peptides and other treatments. I started taking Low Dose Naltrexone, Delta Sleep peptides, Progesterone, BPC-157 (for inflammation), and other peptides for immune dysfunction.

I began noticing tinnitus relief fairly quickly. After rechecking my labs several months later, my C4 levels had come down, indicating that inflammation had decreased. Since I have been on immune peptides, I have not had swollen lymph nodes or gotten sick. We are not entirely sure what triggered everything, but there was clearly an infectious and inflammatory component.

I am sharing this in hopes that it might help someone. I know how debilitating and depressing that time can be when tinnitus is severe. I am also thankful that I was able to find a more natural path to recovery.

For context, I had no ear damage or hearing issues. The exact cause remains unknown.
