Cause of Tinnitus
car accident
Hi, I had a car accident 31 years ago and rolled 7 times and hit a pole. The left side of my head was smashed and I had to have my left ear canal reconstructed. The tinnitus started right away as soon as I came to and hasn`t stopped.

I have had at least three surgeries on the canal and my eardrum was found to be perforated from another time. I was also told that both my eardrums were perforated at some point in childhood.

I have had testing done and people looked at/in my ear but no one has ever done anything because of all the other surgeries and health issues.

I did try some over the counter medication and it made me feel strange.

Any help or advice would be extremely welcome. Thanks.

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk @Bruce T .

Welldone for coping for so long with your tinnitus.
Sound therapy can help and relax you and if your hearing is down maybe hearing aids with maskers might be an option for you.
