Tinnitus Since
???
Cause of Tinnitus
Loud music
I think had this ringing noise since Wednesday and I don't know what to do.

Will this go away and do i need to see a doctor or is that not necessary.

I think this was due to listening to music for too long and especially since I have been for 2 hours(with some breaks) on a airplane listening to music. And later on the night I was listening to music for 15 mins and poof the ringing started.

Does this go away eventually and will I have to eventually see a doctor or no doctor at all?

Hi Bruh54,

Welcome to the site.

Perhaps the ringing will go away on its own (like after a loud concert) or sadly, it may not go away. If I were you, I would definitely see an ENT doctor. He or she will check inside your ear, nasal cavity, and also give you a hearing test (if he doesn't offer to give you one, make sure to ask). Also, ask the doctor to prescribe you a steroid regimen if he does not offer to do so first. Good luck!

You should see a doctor today to start a regimen of prednisone which can reverse the noise in your ears. Tomorrow it might not work anymore because it's very time limited in effectiveness. ACT now

The tinnitus may or may not be associated with the recent music listening. More importantly is to consider your past history of listening to music or possible exposure to other loud sounds. I've been listening to and playing music - some loud, some not - some with headphones, some without - for over 50 years and yet never had tinnitus until a week ago. Ruling out any possible wax accumulation in the ears is always a good first step, and then as was mentioned definitely get a hearing test. That's exactly the point that I'm at. Mine started without any real mentionable event - was simply sleeping and in the middle of the night the sound started. I was not listening to any loud music even several days before but in my case there is definitely long-term exposure to music of greatly varying decibel levels. Best of luck to you and hope you never need to come back here again if indeed the tinnitus proves to be short term and goes away for you!

Welcome to the forum. TT has a thread for new sufferers with step by step instructions. One of the very first step is to see a doctor. Get a medical opinion of the problem is important. Here is the thread which also includes links to ATA & BTA.

Will T go away? For some people it is yes, but for others, T can stay. But that doesn't mean you will suffer from T like before when it is new. For those who are habituated to T, most of the time they don't hear their T unless someone mentions it. So it is as good as gone.. Even if it stays and you can hear it, over time we seem to care less and less about this T sensation. I never thought it possible given my immense suffering with ultra high pitch dog whistle T. But I am a believer now. Take it easy and give it some time. God bless.

So basically I have no choice but see a doctor because as of now it's only noticeable if I close my ears though It might just normal idk really I really just don't what to see a doc yet.

Couldn't I just wait it out and see if it goes away?

Bruh, there's pretty much only one emergency treatment known for acute tinnitus, especially when the cause is loud noise. It's steroids (Prednisone), as others have said.

This only makes sense if you take it shortly after the acoustic trauma.

It's up to you to see a doctor and take it or not, we can't tell you much more.
