Do you still perform with your band on a regular basis Dave?

Yes - I play in five different bands.
None of them have a huge amount of work, so I can usually cover what comes in.

I have to be so careful, using earplugs to reduce the volume, but in such a way that I can hear enough to respond.

I was brought up in the Salvation Army, and played cornet from age 10 to age 17.
I heard some of the greats - Louis Armstrong etc... fell in love with jazz, and have played professionally from age 20 to today.
Taught myself trombone, and switched instruments.
Jazz festivals - jazz clubs - cruise ships - broadcasts etc....

I’m cutting down quite a bit on distances travelled now. Driving over here is so congested and time consuming.

Five bands? Incredible! You have my admiration, Dave. I enjoyed the video you posted a few days ago, you are extremely talented.

What do you mean when you say that you were brought up in the Salvation Army?

My family were Salvationists.
We all played instruments.

Sorry I’m late in responding.
I must have dozed off while you were slurping.
Our normal sleep hours are 2:00am to 8:00am.
Being a jazzer I never want to go to bed until 2am whether I am working or not.
I believe you are about six hours behind us?

Yes, we are six hours behind you. I am an early to bed early to rise person, by 2:00am I have already been asleep for four hours. I rise with the sun every day.
