There are 20 natural amino acids that make up the protein in our bodies. Out of these, 10 are nonessential because our bodies can make them. 2 are newly found in a few proteins and naturally occuring. 8 out of the 20 are essential and need to come from the food we eat.

In nature, there nearly 300 amino acids. We do not need these, but eating proteins that contain these will still lead to them being broken down into amino acids, even though they are not essential. This includes proteins from animals that are very different from us biologically, including sea anemones.

In the small intestine, amino acids are absorbed into the bloodstream and get transported throughout the body. The amino acids broken down from the sea anemone repair proteins do make it to the bloodstream and can cross the BLB.
I think of it more as a discussion or a debate, but call it what you want. It is not completely over. It has only just begun.

I will not be stuffing sea anemone guts into my ear or cooking some up for dinner, but I will eat them raw.

Which one do you think looks tastier? This one?

Sorry, but is the entire hypothesis based on the fact that this stuff looks like hair cells?

Edit: Okay, got confused with another thread. I tend to agree with @JohnAdams though. I think it just breaks down to common amino acids

of course it does, that's a total 100% established fact of digestion.

The regular proteins that make up sea anemone do, but the repair proteins are unique. They would get broken down into nonessential amino acids that our bodies would still use if it could. With tinnitus/hearing loss, there is a use for them. There is no reason to expect proteins that are very different and unique to a particular animal to break down into the 8 essential amino acids. The regular proteins would, but not these repair proteins.

there needs to be further animal experiments with this sea anemone protein but the fact is that it will need to be administered locally via injection because eating it will destroy the protein during the digestion process.

The only way you could know this if you have conducted a study on the consumption of sea anemones for tinnitus/hearing loss. If you have done this, why didn't you just say so? You could have posted the results of your study as your first reply. A lot of time has been wasted discussing it because of you. Please provide a link to your study. I want to see the duration that your participants consumed the sea anemone, and their audiograms before and after.

I agree. Why don't you just put the sea anemone in a blender and then drip it into your ear canal? Might be more effective.
