It’s always dangerous to believe that things could never be worse.
Making my missus a coffee yesterday morning at about 11:00am - when all of a sudden my vision went double.
Two images - one above the other.
I phoned the NHS helpline 111 and hung onto the phone for ages.
I phoned 999 to speak to the ambulance service, and was advised to go straight to A & E at the general hospital.
Under normal circumstances I would have done so - but not now.
I live within the orbital road for Outer London.
      The virus here is rife.
If I had to wait in a crowded waiting room I could go in with double vision - and come out dead.

I will phone my GP for a telephone diagnosis in the morning.
There are many things it could be, so I can’t self diagnose.
In the case of all medical dilemmas I contact my very good mate @Greg Sacramento, a mine of information, as many of you have discovered, who managed to calm me down a bit.
“Sometimes these things settle down on their own.”

Even though I live in interminably loud noise, I currently have to accept that my vision is shot.
I always try to avoid falling into depression, largely to avoid upsetting my adorable wife Sylvia.

As everything is now double, I told her I may have to get used to living in a six bedroom house, with half a dozen cats, and four cars parked outside.

Last night I went to bed with two beautiful women - how lovely - but they both fell asleep before I did !!

I try to see things philosophically.
      I don’t always make it.

When something happens so suddenly it's a big shock.

All the best. At least you seem to be taking it with good humour. You now have so many pussies in one house.

My soon to be 98-year old grandma has been having double vision since 1986... (She first got it around the time of Chernobyl disaster.)
If your vision is good in both of your eyes (not my case), you might consider wearing an eye patch...

Thinking of you my friend, as always.
When this virus goes away you can see an eye doctor, and perhaps it may go on its on.
Keep breathing deep and let your eyes close gently.
Have lots of hugs from your darling and know everyone here cherishes you.
I would carry you on my back to the nearest hospital.

      Sincerely
      Daniel

I can only imagine just how scary that must have been and still is! Has there been any improvement at all since yesterday?

I certainly hope that it's not serious and that your vision will soon return to normal.

      Thanks for the enquiry Jim.
      It is now intermittent.
My BP has come down nicely, and I am feeling better.
In my case I think this could be down to eye strain from iPad overuse.
Because of my severe Tinnitus I spend too much time on screen - needing conversation and exchange of ideas to keep my mind active.
      I must develop better control.
      Cheers

My eyes went blurred last year and immediately afterwards I got tinnitus.

It's a scary thing when there is a sudden change in one'e eyesight. My first thought was, "I'm going blind!"
Luckily, I suppose, things haven't worsened... so far!!

Like you I spend way too much time in front of the screen. Really need to cutdown big time.

Good to know things are a little better today.

Glad that you're feeling better and that the trend is that it's improving rather than getting worse. It's also good to know that you think that you've identified the cause and it's something you can easily remedy.

Considering what's going on at hospitals with the Covid pandemic, this would have been a really dangerous time to have to go to one if it had been something serious. That said, I hope that you'll be feeling even better tomorrow...(y)

I’m sorry, what a scary experience @Jazzer!! I had an experience in 2017 (funnily, in England, I’m from NY) where I had a virus and it messed with my vision. I still had a few blind spots left from it but it got better over a few months! I totally don’t care about it now!! I’m hoping to get to the same headspace with my tinnitus. All the best to you!! If you do happen to get to a GP, steroids may help in early periods. Either way you’ll be fine!

      My dear friend @Jazzer,
I hope you are ok now and your eyes behaving.
This virus is terrible worldwide and so many lives wasted.

I'm on a 12 week isolation by NHS due to severe asthma and pray to god everyone stays safe.
I hope everyone on Tinnitus Talk and Tinnitus Hub stays safe.

All my love to you all, @Markku and @Hazel xx
