Sensation in Ear with Pulsatile Tinnitus

Hi,

I have had what I think is pulsatile tinnitus for over a year, it started in my right ear but is now also in my left ear, along with the whooshing noise I also can feel a sensation deep in my ear, has anyone else had this?

My whooshing is positional with neck position and straining and worse at night when in bed. I have seen an ENT and had an MRI scan but nothing was found. My GP told me I just had to live with it but I am very concerned it is some kind of blockage causing this. I do not have a bruit when the doctor listened to my neck but have not had a ultrasound. The whooshing is not getting worse but its not getting better either, I would be interested in your thoughts.

I would suggest getting an MRA and maybe a consult for another opinion. Not everything will be picked up on MRI, and often doctors don't know what to look for. If they haven't found a cause, you keep digging until you find it. Unlike regular tinnitus, PT often is diagnosable and treatable.
