I woke up in the middle of the night a few years back with a humming sound in my ears. I noticed that regular sounds were too loud and distorted, and accompanied by vibrations. No drugs. No alcohol. No cause I could see.
Thus started panic attacks, anxiety and depression. I made the rounds of doctors and audiologists. Pink noise, relaxation and just get used it was their prescription. Over time, my ears calmed down some. What was left was a low rumble in my left ear which is triggered by motors or buzzing electrical items.
Now, years later, I woke up with an electric hissing sound in my head/ears. Back to panic mode.
So I am reaching out to others to not feel alone with this.
My biggest relief has been people who understand, share and support. Thank you all. I wish everyone peace.
