Spike for 5 Weeks

In my fifth week of spike. No clue why tinnitus is screeching going ear to ear. No one in my life understands the hell I'm in. They just tell me it will get better.

It seems my new tone actually hurts because it’s piercing. Just wish I knew what caused it. 7 doses of Augmentin for pneumonia is doubtful based on its makeup. Allergies not sure either.

But just on here to vent and says that it sucks.

Yea. Over the pneumonia. Just had surgery as well and recovering from that.

 

Any other thoughts. Just struggling a lot lately.

 

I'm with you mate. 2 weeks on a huge spike, and a vibrating ear!
I know what it's like. And came on here just to vent the other day.

 

this link says Augmentin contains Amoxicillin which may be ototoxic:

There is a ton of conflicting info out there however Amoxicillin is supposed to be one of the safest antibiotics out there for ear health.

Give it some time. I've had spikes last months (and other things like hearing distortion) and then just one day disappear.

I find with mild respiratory illness my tinnitus will spike for 2 to even 6 weeks, probably because of something to do with the eustaschian tubes. When I had hyperacusis, I had new tones and changes in volume come and go for months at a time.
