Hello to all,

My tinnitus story is relatively short. In September 2022, I developed unilateral low-pitched tinnitus in my right ear. The cause is unknown, but it may be related to a combination of poor posture, an unhealthy lifestyle, and frequent headaches. It was intense at first, but I learned how to manage it with changes such as using a new mattress and pillow, engaging in sports, and taking slow walks.

In the summer of 2023, I noticed a slight hissing tinnitus in my good ear, but it did not bother me much.

Now, in 2025, I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection three days ago. My first symptoms were a sore throat and mild headache, followed by a stuffy and runny nose a week later. My general practitioner prescribed Augmentin and a nasal spray.

I took the first dose of Augmentin yesterday and ended up crying. A new tone appeared in my left ear, though thankfully, there is no pain. Unfortunately, Augmentin has caused severe insomnia and nausea. I haven't slept in two days, but I do not feel particularly tired. I have also lost my appetite, which could be due to the medication, but it really just feels like sinusitis.

What do you think I should do? I am terrified of this new tinnitus.

Sorry for my poor English.
