Sulpiride Plus Hydroxyzine Decrease Tinnitus Perception

Think I might try. Nothing to lose

 

Sulpiride is mentioned in my "Living with Menieres decease" book from 1996 as anti vertigo drug. Brand name Dogmatil.

 

Cause it won't work, just like any other promising research drug combo.
What we need is a specific t drug, not some random combinations that might make sense in a researcher's head.

 

I first have to check the negative side effects.

i take hydoxyzine and it helps just a little bit

 

Sulpiride strengthens sedating effect of the sedating drugs that coming in combination with it. Following that, I think we have to learn how Hydroxyzine affects the sedative effect on the brain and how it affected by the Sulpiride.

 

I am currently experimenting with Sulpiride (50 mg every 12 hours) + Melatonin (3 mg every 24 hours). I have a Hydroxyzine box waiting too but I am not sure if I will add that to the cocktail. Still on day 2.

 

I added 15 mg Hydroxyzine every 12 hours too. I currently take the full stack but on a lower dosage Sulpiride (100 mg) + Hydroxyzine (30 mg) + Melatonin (3 mg). I will titrate the Hydroxyzine to 50 mg over the next few days but will keep the Sulpiride at 100 mg.

To be honest, I feel it is detrimental in my case but it has only been a week and I don't want to quit so early. If @Inge is still around, can you tell me when did you start seeing improvements?

On the other hand, I have so far experienced no side effects.

 

How is it going with your treatment?

 

i tried this combination (Sulpiride + Hydroxyzine) for several weeks and it didn't help at all.

 

I stopped after trying for a month. The tinnitus got louder first, then returned to base level in week 2. It made me much better for sure psychologically by week 3 and I did not care about the tinnitus as much but the tinnitus loudness stayed around the same so it was not worth the risk. I did not get any side effects while taking this but I encountered some mild restlessness on the few days after stopping which rapidly vanished.

So for me, it did not work as I expected.
