      Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice on ear plugs to try.

I ref about once a month for a full day. After that entire day of blowing a whistle, I get temporary tinnitus for a day or two. I already have replaced my whistle with one that claims to be better for sensitive ears but it still occurs.

I'd like ear plugs that specifically block this high frequency noise while leaving conversation frequencies as undisturbed as possible. Anyone have something like this?

Be careful, earplugs might not be enough protection, and one day the ringing might not stop. If I were you, I would not take this chance and would quit being a referee.

Loud noise exposure / headphone accident maybe?
Look into whistles that are not that loud?

I have been blowing whistles10- 20 times each day at work and ringing bells.
Be careful as it could cause permanent damadge.

A whistle would annoy the hell out of me and my T too.
@Bill Bauer is probably on the money !
Mind you...if its only the players that need to hear you ? Then maybe try some foam plugs for the game. That should knock the edge off and the whistle may be less annoying.
