Viral labyrinthitis
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum . On 17th of December I remember feeling really dizzy at a friend's house. I stayed over hoping the next day I will be okay but I wasn't . It's been almost five weeks the dizziness is getting better but I can hear a high pitched noise in both of my ears around 12000 Hz.

I can still talk to people and have conversations I had my hearing checked and the results were normal I've been to 4 ent specialists and everyone tells me my tinnitus will go but deep down I feel like this is going to last forever because everyday I wake up it's still there and I don't hear it getting any lower and the frequency remains the same.

I've noticed when I'm chewing gum I can hear it get louder which is strange.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help and guide me as this is something new to me and being a musician it's hard for me not to notice the sound. I've lost 7 kgs and I can't stop myself thinking about what I've gone through. I don't feel the same anymore.

Is there a chance that it will go away?

I've been having betaserc and I'm working on my vestibular rehab exercises.

Welcome to the forum. Dizziness or Vertigo plus Tinnitus may mean Meniere's Disease or TTTS. If Jaw movement while chewing can affect T loudness, it may be TMJ related. Have your ENTs checked these out? If your vertigo is not from Meniere's, then you may have it caused by BPPV. If so you can try this exercise next time your vertigo happens again.

No one knows for sure but there is a good chance your T will fade if it is caused by something fixable. Try to keep as positive and calm as you humanly can as anxiety and stress can aggravate your T. Try to read up the success stories to give you hope and to learn some helpful strategies. I have written mine and shared some helpful strategies. Check it out. Take care. God bless.

t's been almost five weeks the dizziness

Meniere's does not last for weeks, the vertigo comes in bouts of days when it's Meniere's.
Longer lasting vertigo with accompanying tinnitus in many cases is labyrinthitis / vestibular neuritis.

I had the same about 11 months ago and all symptoms subsided, unfortunately now for around 9 weeks I am experiencing 24/7 tinnitus again, this is also due to high stress levels and other factors I believe but still strange.
