      Hello there!

I might start with a martial art. I feel i want to be able to protect my family and friends. I also like the training.

But, I scared a blow on the head will make tinnitus worse. Can someone comment on this statement?

Is there someone here with experience in martial arts and tinnitus? Do you think this is possible without making it worse?

      Love to have some input

      Hi Boxdra,

Unless you do competitive martial arts you really shouldn't get hit in the head. You generally spend a long time learning the basics and perfecting simple techniques in most martial arts. I'm sure you'll get a bit of guidance if you call a few places.

I had a spell of Aikido and Karate in the past and they didn't have any bad effect on my tinnitus. Any fitness in general should probably help you, if it makes you feel better about yourself then that can't be a bad thing.
