Tinnitus Audibly Louder When Anxious

I’ve read that people notice their tinnitus more when they are anxious and that is why it appears louder.

When I am very anxious the sound is 10 fold. I don’t think I’m just noticing it more.

I had to go to an audiologist appointment the other day and my heart was pounding. The usual things that would mask it had no chance.

Why would this be?

 

My tinnitus gets louder depending on what i eat or drink or certain activities. I have low, medium, and high volume tinnitus that sounds like microphone feedback. Very high pitched and screatchy. I heard that one person hears classical music. I would enjoy that, for awhile anyway. lol
