Hey everyone, been lurking for the past couple of months since encountering tinnitus in January just gone, so 2 months ago. I live in Australia.
I am 46 and have always loved loud music, since a child, and so I assume this to be the primary cause. It seemed to appear after I accidentally blasted my ears with some new ear buds for a couple of minutes, but I'm sure I would have ended up with tinnitus eventually. Yes, I feel like a massive idiot.
Shit part is that I already had generalized anxiety disorder so it sent me over the edge. I ended up in the hospital psych ward and on medication again. Now back at home and working, functioning quite well, but it's been a roller-coaster for sure. The last week has been pretty bad, but before that I had 2 good weeks, so just holding on to hope for more good times ahead.
Anyway, my appreciation goes out to all contributors, mods, etc. Thanks and best wishes to everyone on this forum. Keep hangin' tough!
