Hi all;

Does anyone experience tinnitus worsening if trying to nap/sleep?

I suffer from bilateral tinnitus mixed tones and if they are calm and I try to nap, they get worse dramatically. If I abandon the idea of a nap it is possible that tinnitus goes back to the baseline.

Someone with this problem?

Anxiety??? The f***k brain spontaneous activity?

Thanks in advance.

My tinnitus gets louder when I lie down.

Have you tried sound enrichment (to have something else besides tinnitus to listen to)?

Yes, I can't take naps any longer. I have always been slow at falling asleep, and now when I lie down and experience getting more tired then the tinnitus raises very much in volume to the point that I cannot fall asleep.

Miss napping!

Sound enrichment does not work for me in terms of taking naps.

I pay the price for any short nap on the couch, usually while watching TV. Whether it is 5 minutes or 20 minutes, I wake up to screeching in my ears. I mean, what is going on? I was having a great, quiet night. I wish I could catch it quickly to stop it!
