Tinnitus Gone for a While

Hi, I have tinnitus since 2014 about a week after clubbing for the 2nd time. At first it was just my left ear, however after a week I also heard it in my right ear.

Last week I heard this weird, almost mechanical sound in my right ear and when I tried to find the tinnitus in my right ear I couldn't find it. Later in the day it came back. Yesterday the same thing happened, a weird mechanical-like sound and again I couldn't find my tinnitus anymore.

I looked online for anyone with a similar experience but couldn't find a post.

If your tinnitus is gone that will be a good news and success story. But I am curious what the mechanical sound is like? Is it beeping or morse code like?
