      Hi,

My ENT doctor has said she suspects I have hyperacusis. She needs me to remove my earwax to investigate properly though. I'm doing this and I'm wondering,

      1. As I'm doing it and my ears are now less protected do I need to protect them with earplugs etc when necessary now?

      2. My tinnitus has worsened greatly in the past couple of months and I can't hear the way I used to. With this in mind I'm struggling to work out what I'm sensitive to now. What I mean is the tinnitus is louder than some sounds and how should I evaluate if something isn't good for me if I can't hear it properly?

I'd welcome any insight anyone has into this.

      Cheers!

I had heavy earwax build up which the ent recommended I get removed stating they think the earwax can tickle the ear canal and cause ringing. After having the wax removed my tinnitus improved greatly but did not go away completely. Now a month later the tinnitus got much louder again. I don't know why.
