Tinnitus Louder After Alcohol

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I drank alcohol—quite a bit, but not an excessive amount. You know what I mean.

Anyway, my tinnitus is louder today. Has anyone else experienced this? Will it return to normal soon?

Always, but only when tipsy and/or worse.

Worst problem with alcohol is that I tend not to notice how loud noises around me actually are, causing me not to wear earplugs when I ought to.

In my case I only have increased Tinnitus while I'm affected by alcohol, not the day after.

Hi @Cassandra alcohol makes louder my T. Always gets better after a while...don't worry, it's a spike, you'll be ok soon

Always the worse for me too. Usually with rining and headace. It will go down. Had a spike with T today from loudness so hoping that goes down.

Coffee affects mee more than alcohol. Also colds, stiff neck and anti inflamatories like asprin aggravate it. Pretty loud today.

I drank one shot of anisette (an Italian liqueur) a day ago, and that night, when I went to sleep, I experienced a tinnitus spike. I don't understand why this happened. Is the spike going to go away? Does anyone know how long it might last?

I never drink. This was the first time in years that I've had any alcohol. Any information on this would be appreciated. I just can't believe something like this could happen. If anyone else has experienced this, I would really like to hear about it.
