Hi folks. Happy new year to you all.

I have had tinnitus since 1991. I had an accident to my ear from a paintball game, and Tinnitus.

I had got so used to having it, I almost didn't notice it. Like a ticking grandfather clock which always ticks, but you get so used to it - you don't notice it until someone points it out.

I am currently going through a sinus/cold infection. The infection has made it very hard to sleep, and I noticed my tinnitus seems much louder. It's as if its come back for the first time.

Anybody else noticed the increase in volume of Tinnitus during a cold?

I am quite worried about it.

      Many thanks.

With me it gets louder during colds and flu, but it returns to its normal level afterwards. I suppose it could the blocked ears not receiving as much external sound, making tinnitus more noticeable.

What you are experiencing is quite normal. Several users here have experienced a temporary increase of their T during colds/sinus infections.

Steroidal nasal sprays can in some cases give some relief.
