Mine is loads worse. I avoid loud places, so it's not that. Maybe meds such as ADs or Sleeping aids. Maybe just changes in the brain that noone can explain. For those of you whose tinnitus has worsened since its onset, what do you think caused it to worsen?
Many things can make tinnitus worst. It's hard to exactly pin point, on what did it. Loud sound, stress/anxiety, Meds, illnesses....these usually are common reasons.
When you say "can make tinnitus worse" do you mean a temporary worsening like it's loud for a few weeks then goes back to baseline, or a permanent worsening. Have you developed new tones that never go away? There's a big difference.
Sometimes it's a spike and sometimes it's permanent. You never know with tinnitus.
Have you had permanent worsenings? What caused them?
Sudden, loud sound through headphones. Most definitely! It's the classic way of inducing tinnitus in animals in fact. Except I was being my own test animal.
For those of you whose tinnitus has worsened since its onset, what do you think caused it to worsen?
I am currently going through a bad spike. My T has been unmaskable since onset. Can hear it everywhere despite any loud sound around me. Got somewhat used to it and could ignore it a good part of the time. Now it's raucuous, like pressure water being projected full force against my neck while metal keys are being shaked near my ears. Can't pin point what has triggered this mess. I am terrified to think that preparing a smoothie with a not-so-loud mixer could have lead to this. For those of you whose tinnitus has worsened since its onset, what do you think caused it to worsen?
