My name is Denise, and I started having tinnitus about 2013, or 14. I started with swishing noises when I would get up from bed, felt like head rushes or something. Then slowly became the ringing I hear now, and it did go 24/7 but I managed quiet times fine, so it couldn't have been very severe.

As time went on, I didn't even use any "noise" devices at night to sleep, but then in 2016, I started having trouble getting to sleep. I was around people a lot of the day, and it just wasn't severe, again, in quiet times. But the last year has turned into some hellish days, and especially nights (naturally) so I now use a phone app that sounds like a fan, or sometimes rain sounds. ALL night.

I had to go on tramadol for about 2 weeks for another issues with something called Torticollus. I felt there was a huge decrease in the T, and almost wished I could keep taking the Tramadol, but glad not to. I know it is said to be non-narcotic, but it sure made me feel sort of "too happy" as some of you may know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, sorry to be so windy, but wanted to give anyone interested some background. I am a bit of a health-nut so have been doing quite a bit of reading on alternative medicine. Also, as you probably know, many doctors say there is no cure, live with it. So I did read about Methyl B12 for folks over 65 with "non" noise induced T. I am 64, close enough. It is inexpensive, so relieved, and am going to try it. I will try and get the link, which is on my smartphone, that talks about several other supplements I'm sure you all know about.

I am looking for mostly, late studies going on now, new success stories, or not. I literally suffered through a biblestudy lastnight because people do mumble, because my hearing, in general is still good. I know it's going as well, but the T was so bad, I don't plan to try any further "quiet" time activities, I can no longer handle them:(

Hoping the best for each of you, as well as myself, what a miserable thing to have, and although it seems pretty widespread, not much in the way of success stories, if any,

Denise

PS I am pretty focused on what might cause it to worsen during some periods of time (weather, allergies, bone/skeletal pain in my neck from the torticolus) Looking forward to meeting some folks here.

PPS Here's the one link I found with some ideas: http://www.betternutrition.com/natural-remedies-tinnitus
