I went shopping the day before yesterday.
When pushing shopping cart out to my car,
a street car with broken muffler passed by.
The loud noise spiked my tinnitus.
I wore earmuffs but still got it. I feel very upset !
Hoping the spike will subside very soon.

Since you wore earmuffs, you ought to be ok. Temporary spikes can last a surprisingly long time. Hopefully yours will last less than a week.
