      Hey everyone,

For the past week it seems that my tinnitus has been more quiet than usual. I still have the occasional spike but it has always gone back down. I can still hear it when I look for it but usually I don’t notice it that much. Is this habituation or am I actually getting better? I have heard that the more quiet tinnitus gets the longer it takes to fade. Can anyone back that up?

      Thanks

How long have you had tinnitus?? Do you hear it in your ear or head?

It sounds like your tinnitus is hopefully improving. There have been stories on this site such as yours. Habituation is when the stimuli/tinnitus is present and we can hear it. Even though we hear it, it is not affecting us like it was in the past. I have habituated about 85-90% and my tinnitus is VERY loud and crazy(impossible to not hear it), I am able to go on about my daily tasks and live a decent life.

I’ve had it since I got a concussion in December. I mainly hear it in my head.

Maybe the volume is lessening. It´s not impossible.

Stay cautious and stay away from music (even if is not the cause of your T)
