      Tinnitus Since:
      2003
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Ear problems since birth
I am 20, male and have had ear problems since I was a child. I had grommets put in my ear when I was very young as there used to be fluid behind my ear drum. I've had tinnitus for a very long time and it has changed somewhat due to these problems (blasts of tinnitus, sometimes lose a bit of hearing and then I hear a very low beeping sound).

This problem started occuring as a result of my phone constantly malfunctioning and putting the volume to its maximum when I listen to songs on my earphones about two years ago and now it has returned. It gets worser when I listen to things from speakers.

I've recently gone to a ENT specialist and he had referred me to get an MRI done (which is a long way off) because of the following problems.

Whenever I hear anything loud, the back of my head which is most likely my inner ear start to hurt with some sort of dull and sometimes sharp tingling pain. It has also progressed to the point where the parts of the ear closer to the outer ear hurt sharply as well. I also have rare pains in my temple and face which stem from my ear. The base of my head also seems to hurt as well as the pain sometimes travels from my ear to my neck causing dull or sharp neck pain. I also get pain in a curved shape starting from the back of my head and ending at the side of my eye. Also, I sometimes get pain in certain areas of the head. Lastly, I also seem to get dizzy when I hear too many loud sounds and have pain when I sleep on any one of my ears as both sides hurt including the inner ear. I had the same thing last year for a while before it went away but now it is back and hurting and making hearing sensitive and sometimes making the inside of my ears crackle. The pain sometimes travels all the way to my shoulder. I also have random blasts of tinnitus.

So I was wondering, since my MRI is scheduled a long while off, what could possibly be the problem with my ears, head, and neck?
