Cause of Tinnitus
Uncertain, now very somatic, started with noise?
What a strange question!

This question has to do with me, because I suspect that I do not have normal tinnitus. I have the impression that my permanent tinnitus (left only) is only a subset of the very loud beeping, that I can cause by pressure on different parts of the head or face.

Constant noises irritate my permanent tinnitus and it becomes more dominant.

Furthermore, my continuous tinnitus is more like a tingling hiss than a sound on a certain frequency.

Would you call your tinnitus "regular"?

Any idea or comment?

well, modern medicine hasn't really looked to deep into tinnitus sound characteristics, so who knows? really, not everyone is educated on sounds and frequencies and the descriptions of what they are hearing is largely subjective. I'm a hobby musician and I can program synthesizers and teach basic music theory so I can describe my T sounds, but the FX 322 is about to wipe all that out so who (in the medical science industry) even cares? what does the beep sound like?
