      Multi-factorial
Well, i would say that trauma is, a force that pushed the jaw, or an opening of the jaws too much, during a visit to the dentist, or while yawning.
As for the culprit for a neck that causes tinnitus, i would also say trauma, but, bad position of the neck over a long period of time may also lead to neck problems and tinnitus (I do not know if the very common "forward head position" is one that can cause tinnitus).
A second culprit in tinnitus caused by jaw misalignment may be problems that occured in time because of the teeth.
