      Guys, why are certain certain sounds so irritating to specific people?

      For example, the sounds of the metal, iron on the glass, creaking foam and so on.

      Me, for example, it is very annoying, so I even jump up as from a shock, the sound of a metal grinding - when the bottom of an iron kettle is scraped, moving it.

      Tell me, is it dangerous for the ear? May cause damage or a spike?

      @IvanRus ,
      Could be Hyperacusis or you just don't like the sound.
      I hate the touch of polystyrene and the sound of it.
      Love glynis

      It may be misophonia. If it's the case the reaction to the noise you hate is not synonymous to damage at all.

      And it is this sound (the scraping of the iron bottom of a teapot, kettle or other similar object) that irritates me on the physical level all my life since childhood, when I did not even know about tinnitus
