When I take Xanax my tinnitus and distortion/dysacusis go away about 90%. I feel happy that I can maybe do this 1-2x a week, but sad that when I wake up tomorrow it will be back to painful sounds of metal and glass and dentist drills, and thoughts of suicide.

I understand Klonopin, another benzo is sometimes prescribed with Gabapentin, and some members here are on that combo indefinitely, knowing that at some point if they ever try to withdraw their brain may be fried. I could also mortgage my future and try that, but I'm not sure what to make of the idea.

My question is, is there any way I can use the knowledge that a benzo helps me to find a more sustainable solution, or am I just caught in a state of in-between, where I can have some "normal" days and other hellish days.

I can't help but feel sad that as I eat dinner with my parents, I'll be plunged back into torture in the morning...
