How Loud Is an Industrial Paper Shredder?

I was wondering if anybody knows how many decibels an industrial paper shredder is. There are companies that drive giant trucks that have shredders in them and I didn't have my phone to check how loud it was. And I was only close to it for a minute, but I forgot my ear plugs today. I don't...

Frustrated at a Coworker for Honking a Horn

Thanks guys. I don't think I had a spike from the horn per say, more so from the anxiety and fear around that it would. Once I realized it wasn't long or loud enough to cause any damage my fear and anxiety around it went down as well as the volume.

Frustrated at a Coworker for Honking a Horn

So I was at work outside talking to my girlfriend on my phone and a guy at my work drove right up to me and honked the horn for 3, maybe 5 seconds and I'm afraid it might have caused a spike or could have made my tinnitus worse. I looked up online and it said the loudest a car horn can be is...

Prescribed Tobradex Which Is Ototoxic — What Can I Do? Any Alternatives?

Okay so I was on Sofracort for 10 days. I took it for that time and stopped it about a week ago. So I went to the doctor today and she prescribed me Tobradex which is in the same class of antibiotics as the ones I just took. She said I still leave some ear canal inflammation and that I might...

Ear Inflammation After Having the Ear Flushed — Doctor Prescribed Aminoglycoside

On Sunday I got my ear flushed out and I had and still have some inflammation on my left ear. I have an allergy to cipro so ciprodex was out of the question. And unfortunately the only other options were two aminoglycosides which are known to be ototoxic only when the eardrum has a hole in it...

Can Ear Wax Build Up Cause Tinnitus?

I plan on getting it removed with water flushing as I'm aware mircosuction can be the most dangerous, and the manual method depends heavily on the ENT's skill, however it could take me up to 6 months or more to see an ENT so my option at the moment is irrigation.

Can Ear Wax Build Up Cause Tinnitus?

Okay I guess I'll find out when I get it removed if it was the wax or not causing it. Though I only have it in one ear and my hearing doesn't sound worse or muffled but when I got my ears flushed last year I could hear so much better afterwards.

Can Ear Wax Build Up Cause Tinnitus?

So I went in today to get my ears flushed with irrigation. I've been using baby oil twice a day for the past week to soften the wax. However I was apparently doing it incorrectly because she said the wax is still hard. She even joked and said she was surprised I could hear out of my right ear...

Doctor Using the Flush System Irrigation / Syringing to Remove My Excess Ear Wax — Is It Safe?

I was supposed to get my ear wax removed via irrigation but reading all of those horror stories scared me and I chickened out of doing it today as I've only been putting in baby oil ear drops in my ear for only 3 days instead of the recommended 7 to 10 so I'm gonna keep doing that and on this...

Doctor Using the Flush System Irrigation / Syringing to Remove My Excess Ear Wax — Is It Safe?

A doctor is flushing the warm water irrigation. I wouldn't risk a trainee doing it.

Going to a Childish Gambino Concert on December 7th — Any Precautions I Should Take?

Okay so the week after the concert I have a hockey game for my works xmas party. Should I be able to go to that? We are in the skyboxes (private rooms up top) 3 rooms and hockey games are a lot quieter then a concert which I'm still very unsure if I should go now and am scared to.

Doctor Using the Flush System Irrigation / Syringing to Remove My Excess Ear Wax — Is It Safe?

I'm getting my ears flushed via warm water irrigation tomorrow. Also if I were to get referred to a specialist (an ENT) it would take 6 months minimum or more in waiting times. The doctor I saw said I have an ear wax build up and that I needed to put baby oil in my ears twice a day until...

Going to a Childish Gambino Concert on December 7th — Any Precautions I Should Take?

That's the thing my seats are pretty much in the far back upper bowl level and I plan on wearing earplugs there. I don't think it should be problem. I plan on using a decibel meter and if it's too loud I'll leave.
