  • hello, do you have ear fullness and tingling in the ear canal? anything make these 2 symptoms better? gabapentin? magnesium lotion?
What dose did you jump at off of benzo ? And how long till T started fading?
    S
Have you checked out BenzoBuddies for more info? Not sure if you have yet. They may offer more info on there. Different threads and whatnot.
Wish I could DM you instead of taking up your profile page.

So sorry to ask more questions, but did you ever have what sounded like an electrical wire jammed in your head?
    That's my most annoying noise.

Did your noises get very loud and unmaskable?
    Maria Francesca
Hello, I don't know exactly what do you mean but all those crazy sounds were electrical like and unmaskable.
My baseline tinnitus is unmaskable too, it reacts to external noise.
Sometimes I feared the insane electricity in my head would be persistent, but I read effects of withdrawal were not permanent so I had hope

Same I am scared this is permanent. I can hear it over everything and it changes every 10 minutes.

Had u ever taken benzos before ?
    Maria Francesca
No, it was my first time and I was ignorant about dependency and withdrawal nobody advised me.
On bad days, I can hear it over a jet engine, ac noises and car rides make it worse. Fortunately I can shower it away, sometimes I wake up to my old baseline, but I am trying to taper slowly so I remain functional. The T can get really really bad if I taper too fast.

I'm lucky that I get breaks from it, my longest streak of mild days is 6.
Were you scared the T wouldn't go back to normal once you were off?
I'm down to .495 from a maximum of 1.5 mg, but highest regular dose was .75.

I'm holding on to your story for hope, since my baseline T is quite mild. I hope once I'm done tapering, the benzo T will subside a bit.
    Forever hopeful
It worsen when you restarted med. How long have you been off of it before starting again? Using a scale to micro taper? Figured I'd use a nail file + scale. Been able to taper down no problem in the past but I've been on it for 7 years when I first got T. T resolved after 1.5 / 2 years. I tapered off again in 2021, no issues then I got T back due to HL ( L ear only)

I was off of it for 1 year and 2 months. I don't think my brain had time to heal from the c/t and it either threw me into withdrawal or i had some paradoxical reaction. My doctor told me since I was having trouble tapering last time I could just stop, so I did. I was fine fortunately, but tapering this time I am having pretty severe withdrawal symptoms, even going slow.

each time you're on it, it's harder to get off. Once you get off of it this time, I would recommend never getting back on them. It causes permanent problems in some people, doctors downplay these drugs like crazy.
    Maria,

How is your T now? Manageable?
Do you think you fully recovered from the benzo worsening?

Finally, did you taper daily, or do the cut and hold method?

Thanks and hope you are well.
