  • I was able to briefly sit in a silent room and not think about it while working. Counts as progress, I guess?

That is *exactly* the sort of progress you are after, as it almost certainly leads to the next improvement!

Amazing! I'm also having a lot of those moments. I can actually forget about my tinnitus for nearly an hour if in silent room, or hours and hours if in a room with low noise levels. You will most certainly be where I am soon. :)
It's crazy how anxiety makes me lose perception of things. Sleep deprivation, balance, productivity, hunger... it all comes crashing.

I wish this were a mental health issue that was taken much more seriously by the medical community. Throwing pills at it and telling you to blow money on session after session of therapy isn't a universal solution.

@Drachen I know it's unhealthy to think like this, but there are days where I would rather be afflicted with something more serious than this. At least then there would be guaranteed treatment, or at least sleep! Now that I got that one off my chest, I'm shooing away that negativity because we all need to stay upbeat!
Can say with 100% certainty that decent sleep helps my case. A LOT. If not with mildly decreasing the volume, then with staying sane.

For sure! Sleep seems to be the kicker for many people, and I'm glad to see that it's resulted in you doing better.
