Hi Sara sorry to drop a question on this thread I saw your story here awhile bk did your H ever go away? After your last setback and if so how long did the recovery take?
Hi, h is much better than it was in the early days. I can live mostly normal around my house although I do not use regular dishes or cutlery because I just can't deal with that sound. I don't think I'm really recovered but I think the acute hellish period lasted for several months. Hoping to take some steps to be able to live more normally outside of my home again. How are you doing with your recovery?
Hi @SaraK18 Yes I got another dog and I am glad I did because she has given joy to my life after my old dog passed away and taken me out for a walk more. She is a quiet one like my previous one and does not bother my hyperacusis. Taking a dog felt like a major risk with hyperacusis. But I am a dog person, I felt like something important was missing from my life. Only difficult thing is other dogs that bark to my dog.
@Sointu that's great news I'm glad you got another dog. I'm on the verge myself but a bit nervous. Can I ask what kind of dog you got? I feel like it would be very healing for me because I am a dog person too!
I understand. When I was waiting for the puppy I was going through hyperacusis spike and I was thinking what am I doing. What if I can't handle it with my hyperacusis. But luckily everything went well.
