I'm struggling ☹️

So in November I went to a concert and it was loud... Too loud to be honest and... Well the rest is history... My ears haven't stopped since! I feel so stupid as I should have known better. I really can't imagine my life with this now!

I'm not sure it fits in with the norm of tinnitus!
My right ear (I think it rings but I cannot be certain) over the last 3 months I've had episodes where the 1st time it started ringing so loud, I couldn't hear my little girl talking to me, it lasted about 20 minutes then stopped. It did it again about 3 weeks later but no where near as loud again lasting about 20 minutes then stops.

My left ear was a constant ring, quite high pitched but about 3 weeks ago, it's changed, still tings but it's like I can feel a presence on and off next to my ear! The best way I can describe it is if you mover your hand back to front past your ear you can feel the presence of your hand!!

I'm getting little thudding noises in both that's very rarely though and ear pain in both ears intermittently.

The bizarre thing is that when I lie down after about 15 minutes, it either stops or the sound goes into my head!

My glands in my neck feel like they have been constantly up and down and when they hurt it makes my ear hurt!!

I'm just at a loss... I'm at the ENT tomorrow but I know that there is no cure so I don't even know why I'm going!

They aren't going to tell me what I want to hear!! I've been doing quite well ignoring it but now for the past few days I can feel it taking over again!

Does any of this resonate with your experiences?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

I just want it to stop but am unsure of the reality of my request!

HI @Lucy_may

From what you have described it is, the onset of Noise induced tinnitus. Please click on links below and read my articles on tinnitus. I will send you an email with other information. I know things are difficult for you at the moment, but noise induced tinnitus, normally improves with time. My article: Tinnitus, A Personal View, will describe what is likely to happen at your ENT appointment tomorrow.

All the best
Michael
